Two Mourning Doves greeted me at the office yesterday. These birds fascinate me. Their beautiful coloring of pink, gray and taupe brown and their soft cooing sound that I find soothing.
I whispered a quiet “hello” to them. I don’t usually see them on the sidewalk. They like to sit on the telephone wire behind my home.
I didn’t think much about them until later in the evening when I needed a bird subject for my blog. I then remembered their visit. How interesting they would stop by when I was mourning the recent death of my father-in-law whom I dearly loved.
So I created my drawing today in memory of Bruce and wrote this Haiku:
Mourning Dove cooing A song of sadness for me I miss your kind heart.
Happy First Day of Spring!
Sorry for your loss, your bird is very soothing. I like the neutral colors with the touches of pink and yellow.
