A Wine Doodle

I started this doodle in my sketchbook last Saturday:

Doodle for wine blog

And I have been working on it for 5 days!  It was a good activity to start at the lake when a cool wind was blowing.

I am thinking of starting an additional blog on wine so this was my inspiration.

This is one of the largest doodles I have done – my journal is 9 x 9 inches.  I used Micron pens and also a Sharpie fine point pen.  The Sharpie pens seem to last longer and are cheaper to buy.

I am going to add shading to it with pencil.  Do you think I should add color to it?  Would love to know what you think!

Happy Creating!  🙂

  1. A blog on wine!!!! 🙂 I am in! What are you going to discuss/feature about wine? Love this doodle not only for its artistic value, but it contains so many things I love too 🙂

    • Thanks Jodi! Well, I have been writing stories for several years to create imaginary people from the varietals of wine. I know it sounds a bit unconventional. LOL! I would like to teach a creative approach about wine. Washington State is one of the largest wine producing states. So I thought it might be a way to sell some of art in a fun way. 😊🍷🎨

  2. This reminds me of one of the hidden picture drawing they used to have in the old Highlights magazine. Fun.

  3. This is beautiful, Jill! I’d get it professionally scanned (or maybe you’ve done that already) before adding color because I think it is publishable! I love your intricate doodles and I can’t imagine ever being able to do something like it. I’d be curious what it might look like with color but at the same time I’d be afraid of messing it up if it were mine. This is beautiful!

Maybe start with just the colored wines, see how that looks?

Could I help with the wine blog (as a taster, of course)!
