I like to experiment with color and different art mediums much like my dear friend, Laura at Create Art Everyday! You can find her AWESOME blog, here.
Below is an experiment I did recently with water-soluble wax pastel crayons, Tombow markers and Prismacolor pencils:
It reminds me of curly ribbons wrapped around a birthday gift! 🙂
Laura has been creating some beautiful flowers in her sketchbook! She inspired me to give it a try:
I sketched them in black pen and added just a hint of watercolor.
I took this photo of my roses in my yard for my reference:
Hope you find a little time to create today! And if you need a little inspiration to get started, check out Laura’s blog!
Happy Creating! 🙂
Jill, you’re so sweet; thank you!! You really wowed me with your artwork today!!!! I’m not sure which I like best, the abstract or the flowers. Both gorgeous for different reasons. I love the delicacy in your floral piece!! Maybe that one is my favorite, it’s just so lacy and beautiful and soft. Love them both Jill, and you’re too kind to give my blog a mention too. Have a wonderful weekend!! 💜💛💜

Hi Jill – what a happy post today. I love all of your creating. At the moment it is 5:20am at my house. I’m going to go for a walk and then come back and create with my water colors. A fun morning ahead. Happy Day!

Thanks Charlie! So nice of you to say! I have to say that I really enjoyed sketching the roses without pencil first. Very liberating. It also helped to be short on time because I could not fuss about it. LOL! 😊

It’s it great?! I never thought I’d give up my pencil and eraser and then one day I tried it and never looked back (except the one time I tried a portrait…not confident with drawing people yet! Hehe)

Yes, now I want to try it again! Not sure I could do people or landscapes like you do – yours are really fabulous BTW! 😊🎨🌟

Aww thanks! That’s sweet! Well I can’t do people yet…hehe…but landscapes are easier because they’re more forgiving. I started with buildings because there are more straight lines to follow.
