As many of you probably know, I really love playing with color! So I created this mixed media collage tonight of leaves:
I used a variety of papers – some my own that I printed with the gelli plate, leftover paint and syran wrap. I also used scrapbook paper and a dictionary word and photo.
After I glued my papers to 140 lb hot press watercolor paper with a glue stick, I outlined the leaves with pencil. Then I smudged the outlines to give them dimension.
I did a similar “summer” collage with summery colors, here.
Happy Weekend Friends! :-)))
P.S. I have decided to take a break this Saturday and Sunday from posting on my blog. I am pretty tired from a busy week at work. So I decided to rest up. Look forward to seeing what you are creating! 🙂
Beautiful. Love the colors and texture. The Gelli-Prints look fun too. Have a great restful weekend.

Thanks Jodi! We are closing up our trailer at the lake this weekend. It’s a big job so I will be thankful when it’s done. I will be resting and “arting” on Sunday. Looking forward to that! Have an awesome weekend too! 🙂

Beautiful collage, Jill, and I really need to learn how you do your deli or gelli or however you spell it prints because you are creating beautiful stuff always, particularly whenever you incorporate that in. Love the fall colors too! Enjoy your weekend, Jill! I hope your leaves are starting to change there!

I admire your sense of color (I don’t have a very good sense of it myself); this is so lovely! Rest well this weekend!

Wow Jill, this is a fabulous collage. I do like how you used the pencil to add dimension. A rest sounds good, enjoy. I decided to only blog three days a week because I knew I couldn’t keep up with a daily posting. That’s why I named my blog MTW, to keep myself obsessive self at bay! 😄

You are very wise, my friend! Yes, I’m finding the daily blogging is starting to bog me down so I know I needed a rest. I’m glad you like my collage! :-)))

Thanks Suzink! Fall is one of my favorite times of year. I like blogging but I’m so behind at home from going to the lake every weekend for the last 5 months. We are finishing up this weekend. I look forward to having more time for art! :-)))

Wow, this is beautiful!!! I was wondering how you did it because some of the leaves seem to be transparent… Are they from transparent paper? Anyway, this looks absolutely great!!! 🍁🍂🍃 Wishing you a wondeful recreative weekend!!! Enjoy! 🌞

I did! You’re so sweet!! It’s been a joy getting to know you and see your art! ❤️😃 Also saw my typo in my comment…my way with words is limited by ongoing battle with autocorrect. “You love of color” …I draw graffiti once and now I’m all street 😎

Oh, Thank you Charlie! Has anyone ever told you that you have a way with words?! Your thoughtfulness and kind words makes me feel good! 😊❤️

Lots to do this weekend and I’m training a new employee at work. So not as much energy to create over the weekend. 😦

Hopefully putting in the energy now, will pay off later… if not for you, than for the new employee. 🙂 And you will have energy for art soon enough.
Sometimes art itself takes energy – and you need to ‘refill’. Hope you had a nice weekend!
