Memory has the power to gather roses in winter.
I’m not sure who wrote this saying but it is one of my favorites.
I discovered this single rose by surprise last week. I was in a hurry on my way somewhere when it made me stop and take a deep breath.
I took a photo of it as a reminder to stop and notice the beauty around me each day. I want to remember this rose in the middle of winter.
What flowers do you like to gather in your memories?
I’d love to hear from you!
Stay Warm! 😊
The weather is really causing some strange occurrences. But flowers are always welcome, all kinds! (K)

Oh how lovely! Different flowers bring back so many different memories, but I think my all-time favorite has got to be the bleeding heart, and I have an heirloom plant my grandmother gave me that I have planted at two different homes already. It reminds me of her special love. 🙂 Heat back yet?

Hi Johanna! I love lilacs too and planted a bush in my yard for that very reason. 💜🌺💜 xo

Hi Jill, I do hope you are back to a warm home. Both my grandmother and mother loved the Peace Rose. Their gardens were always full of roses. I used to pick off the thorns, as a kid, and stick them on my nose. Heehee.

Still no power yet. We apparently aren’t a priority. 😨 what lovely memories of the Peace Rose! Funny too! 😊 I won’t touch thorns! 😄💖

So sorry to hear you are without power, Jill. Hopefully soon. 💕 I was always getting stuck with the thorns.

What a lovely surprise! I don’t know what flowers I like to gather in my memories…I think I’ve always had a greater affinity for food and so I tend to gather food in my memories. LOL!

Food is good too! 😄 I remember a lot of family celebrations by the food we ate! 🍷🍞🍕🍜

I hear ya! When I think of my childhood, I tend to remember the food more than I remember people. LOL!

We were without a furnace last winter for two weeks! 😉 Fireplaces are wonderful things :)))

Ours is a woodstove that can heat the house but I didn’t have time during tax season to keep the fire going but we did have electricity and bought a few more of those oil containing space heaters which helped a lot. Unfortunately that won’t work for you but at least you have your fireplace. Can be a very romantic thing, this! :))

PS if I were without AC for two hours it’d be way worse for me than without heat for two weeks (but still having the woodstove and space heaters though which I guess is not really being without heat lol).

Still no heat. We are thankful for the gas fireplace and gas hot water so we can shower. Hopefully, the power company will fix it today. 😜

Ooh and warm up in the shower too! That’s good you have hot water. I hope so too, Jill!

The last roses are always the most beautiful. Maybe because we are getting ready to lose all the colors. Lovely saying and beautiful photo.
