In the Moodle

As I was completing this doodle recently –

I decided to call it a Moodle. My very own word for a doodle.

I find that I have to be in the right mood to doodle that is why I call it a Moodle.  Now I’m not sure what mood this is exactly.  Maybe it is when life gets complicated and I need to slow down.

Moodles can be very meditative after all.  Maybe I need to moodle when I feel distracted as it helps calm me.  Whatever my mood, a good moodle seems to raise my spirits.

What about you, does art help balance your mood?

Happy Moodling!  😄

  1. Wow, this looks great!!! I love to doodle/moodle, but most the time I´m too impatient. Maybe that´s exactly the reason I should doodle more often – to calm down. I think it´s really extremely meditative. Your´s here is really beautiful! ❤️

  7. hehe… you know I’m a fan of coined words, so yay to Moodles I say!! This is a wonderful one too. I think art definitely helps me balance out my mood after a long day. Wine is usually there as well, but I’m going to give all the credit to art! 😉

  8. Fabulous Moodle! I don’t know if art helps me balance my mood, but it does often calm me down because I get absorbed in it and forget what I was stressing about. 🙂

  11. I’m so used to seeing your other styles of art, this came as a shock, but a most pleasant one! So, Aubrey Beardsley, I think. I like it. 😎

    • Thank you Janina! I had to look up Aubrey Beardsley. You are too kind my friend. ❤️ After completing my moodle, I did see what could be the outline of a woman’s figure. Did you see it too? 😊 This gives me ideas for a future moodle on better paper. 💖😊🌟

  12. Wonderful Moodle! So good to have such a thing in your life, isn’t. Nice to see it at a finished state. Art helps me too sometimes. The other day I used drawing to calm me down, when I had good reason to be very angry. It worked like a charm. But I lost about an hour of from work time to it; which otherwise hadn’t been very productive either, so I just have to accept that…. (which I find hard)

    • I may have to start learning to Moodle. Maybe it works even better than my own drawing. 🙂

      • I think that anything creative can be calming. I like doodling/Moodling because I like drawing patterns. It is kind of like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. 😊 Plus doing it in my journal allows me to just play. I think that is when wonderful things happen when we allow ourselves time to play. How about you? I really liked Cat’s class! ❤️

    • It sounds like drawing really helped you. I think if it can calm us then it is a very good thing – cheaper than therapy! lol! 😊
