I love looking at different patterns, shapes and colors in magazines. So tonight, I decided to cut out the ones that really spoke to me and glue them in my art journal, here is the result:
Isn’t it incredible?! Β π
I started by creating a grid in my 9×9 inch art journal:
This gave me the size to cut from my magazines:
I then glued them into the squares with a glue stick. Β It helped to have more images than I needed. Β I added some smaller images to cover the lines. Β I really enjoyed doing this exercise!
I hope you will join me tomorrow to see how I use this collage to give me ideas for my art!
Some of the magazines I used were cooking, craft, decorating, clothing and gardening.
Happy Creating! Β π
Turned out great. Looking forward to seeing the next step tomorrow

Thanks Sharon! I used to cut out patterns from magazines all the time and put in a journal. It is fun to look back on the images to see if my tastes have changed. π

Jill, thanks to you, I will never look at time in front of the TV the same again. I am always, always painting or drawing (in my journal). I bet this was a lot of fun to do while watching TV! Looking forward to see where you go with it.

I love this. Have you ever taken any of Tammy Garcia’s classes. She is fabulous at grids.
