It’s A New Day

Remember the art tote bag that I showed you last week?  Well, I figured out how to patch the holes!  I also added color to the bag!  (You all know how much I like color!)

Isn’t it totally wild?!  🙂  I printed it with Golden Fluid acrylic paints on my Gelli plate yesterday.  I covered the holes with circles I cut from deli-printed gelli prints:

I used a stencil to cut out the colored circles and ironed on a fusible web stabilizer to the papers.  I then sewed the papers over the holes on the bag.  It was a bit tricky to sew so my lines aren’t too straight.  I may finish the edges with hand stitching – I haven’t decided yet.

On the other side of my bag, I sewed 3 colored circles:

I like the colors on this side best!  I used stencils and Spirograph circles to make my patterns with my gelli plate.

I think my art tote bag looks so much better now.   I’d love to know what you think!

Happy Creating!  🙂

  5. Yes it is wild and I love it. WOW… I have Golden Fluid acrylic inks…is that the same? Will it wash off? I think you said you were doing Expressing in Sketchbook Skool. Did you make any stamps? I ordered some supplies to make stamps.

    • Thanks Carmel! I have not tried acrylic inks but you could experiment and see if they would work! Your prints would probably be more watery in appearance but I like that look too! And I have not finished watching the lessons to Sketchbook Skool yet – but I will! I have always wanted to make my own stamps so I look forward to seeing what you create! 😃🎨👍

      • Jill, I just looked at my supplies. I do have Golden High Flow paints. My inks are Daler Rowney and Liquitex acrylic inks. 😊

      • I have used the high flow paints from Golden – I only have a few colors and I like the Fluid paints the best but I’d give them a try! I have the DR acrylic inks too – I’m curious to see what they would do now! BTW, I often add a glazing medium to the fluid acrylic paints to extend the drying time but I don’t think you have to do that with the high flow paints? 😃
