Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe… Three birds in a row,  Not a tick-tock clock,  Or chatter cross-talk,  Just a game you know,   Tic-Tac-Toe!

According to Wikipedia, Tic-Tac-Toe is a game of three-in-a row so I created 3 birds in a row for Weird Bird Wednesday.  It is also a British game known as Knoughts and Crosses, so I used the words, “not” and “cross” in the above verse.

Here are the materials I used for today’s birds, can you find these materials in my imaginary birds?

Answers:

Gelli-printed paper (green) for the tree branch and gelli-printed maps in the bird’s beaks and Toe’s hat.  I used the old sewing book for the bird’s bodies.  And the children’s dictionary for the bird’s wings and tail.

Symbolism of the verse:

The wings on the first bird, Tic are from a clock illustration in the dictionary.  It uses the symbolism of “O” for the game.  The bird in the middle, Tac uses “X” for its symbol and I used a dictionary word, talk-a-tive, upside down on top of the bird’s beak for the word cross-talk which is British for chattiness.  The dictionary checkerboard on its tail represents the symbolism of a game similar to this one.  The “X” is a rubber stamp.  For the last bird, Toe, I used an illustration from the dictionary of a tablecloth to represent the grid pattern used in the game, tic-tac-toe.

I hope you enjoyed playing along today!

Happy Creating!  🙂
