What jumpstarts your creativity?
I signed up for Creative Jumpstart 2018 to get my creative juices flowing. I liked this year’s theme: Now We’re Cooking; Mixed Media Art Recipes
This online class has a 10-15 minute video each day from a different mixed-media artist throughout the month of January. Cost is reasonable too – only $50!
If you’d like more information and a short video about the class, go to: www.Nathaliesstudio.com
I wrote down some of my “ingredients” for PLAY above… and then collaged over it with matte medium and scraps of painted paper (and an old recipe):
One of the ways I like create an atmosphere of PLAY is to leave a project unfinished on my table. Then I can’t wait to get back and work on it! 🙂
How about you? Do you have a technique for jumpstarting your creativity?
I will show you my finished piece later this week.
Cheers! 🙂
a good start to the year Jill…looking forward to seeing what else you cook up! (K)

Sounds like a fun class! I love love your collages…I just ordered an adjustable desk top that I can pull up to any chair for a drawing surface, can’t wait for it to arrive!

Thank you, Jenna – I love to learn new techniques. Your adjustable desk top sounds like the perfect way to start creating. I hope you share it on your blog – love to see what it looks like as I might have to get one! 😉 Cheers! 🎨👍

Sounds like a great class. I don’t know how you do it. I am not a doodler and no longer feel the need to get inner thoughts out on paper, let alone make an art journal. Hats off to you.

Hi Arlene, I have always kept a journal as it helps me process my thoughts. 🙂 I also like to write down art “recipes” for painting papers, etc. Cheers!

I think my recipe is just sitting down and being quiet. Letting thoughts come and go. One of them will be good for a start. 😊 Love your use of colors, they match each other again so nicely!

I hope the book doesn’t have any sentimental value. I wouldn’t be able to rip it up but it is very effective on your collage.

Hi Carol, I got the book at a yard sale so no sentimental value. 😊 Some of its recipes are really wonky! 😉
