If you were to draw, paint or photograph ten items that YOU treasure around your home, what would they be?
For the second assignment for Lynn Whipple’s online class, The Essence of Still Life, we were to draw ten items on our table:
I had fun selecting different items – some treasures and some I just like to draw, like the pear… to complete this still life on a 10 x 10 inch wood panel.
Please check out Arlene’s blog. She is also taking Lynn’s class. Arlene’s art style is fabulous! I like what she chose to draw for her still life.
I’d love to hear about what items you treasure…
Cheers! 🙂
What a great idea to get the creative juices flowing, Jill. Thanks for the link to Arlene’s blog. I can always count on you for something new and fresh to get me going in the morning. You’ve got me thinking about what to draw in my little abode.

I love your drawing. Mine would be: buttons, shells, a toilet-roll shaped into an oblong to be used as a plant pot for seedlings, an espresso cup (for coffee or flowers), a seed catalogue, a clicky pencil, some gardening gloves and a pair of flower snippers. Maybe some chocolate.

I can see your items on a table, thank you Ali! 💜🐝 I think chocolate would definitely need to be there! 😍

Hi Jill! I love the softness of your painting. It is great to see how each of us interprets the lesson. Shall be making a start on lesson 3 tonight! 🙂

Excellent prompt! Unfortunately, with a very early morning, I am not sure if I will be in the mood to do anything at all today, including painting. (Sick dog…decisions to be made soon).
