A Different Perspective

I don’t know about you but sometimes I get stuck in a creative rut…

When creating becomes less fun and spontaneous, I realize I need a break.

I need a different perspective.

Taking a blogging break has helped me realize that creating art doesn’t have to be about knowing the direction I am going in life or art.

It can be about the JOY in discovery.

It can be experimenting with different art mediums such as watercolor paints…

And being inspired by aerial photography at National Geographic to create abstracts by dipping my paintbrush in paint.

I don’t have to create a masterpiece, I just need a new perspective and keep experimenting with JOY! 🙂

I hope you find JOY in what you create today.

Cheers! 🙂

  1. Hi Jill…those little studies have a looseness and playfulness about them that are a joy to behold.

When I feel like I am in a rut, I usually read art books or prepare art posts for publishing or work on other art related-matters.

Since I so often change what I am creating in subject matter and in the medium I am using, it isn’t long before I think of something else I would like to try. Most of my downtimes occur after holidays. For some reason, it takes me a while to get back into my art when I have been away from it. Cheers!

I know that part of my problem is dealing with health issues. Learning to be gentle with myself seems to be a process… art helps me a great deal. Thanks again for your comments, Louise! 😘💕

    • Thank you, Sharon! 😍 I discovered the beautiful photographs at National Geographic online provides wonderful painting inspiration with color play. On the first painting, I painted two different views on top of each other. I figure, I can later cut them up for collage.

  3. Joy is the whole point when creating art, in my opinion, and if the final product is a “masterpiece,” that’s the icing on the cake! Happy creating, Jill! 😘
