I chose flowers – real and imagined for my Square-A-Day project for August.
I tried something different and drew each flower square with a .01 black Micron pen:
This gives me the option to try different art mediums when I make a copy. I thought it would be fun to color them!
If you are interested in coloring them also, I will learn how to create a worksheet for you to print and color – let me know in your comments.
I was inspired by other artist’s styles this month, perhaps you recognize Mary Engelbrecht? I have always been a big fan of her art!
Pinterest was also a big source of ideas and I discovered many “how to draw” steps which was extremely helpful.
When I started drawing flowers, I discovered patterns EVERYWHERE such as fabrics, greeting cards, carpet and of course nature – my best teacher!
I hope you enjoy them and share with me the ones that are a favorite pick for your “bouquet!”
Cheers! π
These are great Jill. When I printed a coloring project I used 110 lb Bristol Vellum which is perfect for colored pencil. It’s a smooth paper and colored pencil lays down velvet like.

Thank you Beverly! I will have to try the Vellum paper and color pencils. Iβd also like to try 140 lb hot press paper for watercolor. Did you scan in your images or take a copy of them? π

I did enjoy them. With the element of color missing, one’s attention focuses on the design elements more clearly.

Thank you Laura Kate, I do like that they seem to fit together as a whole without color. This was a good learning experiment for me. Iβm glad you enjoyed them. ππΈπ»

Thank you Kerfe, I was showing my squares to a friend and she asked if the center of the flower spelled anything. At the time it didnβt but I liked her idea so I added some βjoy!β πΌπΈπ»
