Art Journal Prompts – Part 2

I wanted to show you the page in my art journal that I completed from Monday’s post:

Below is the photo from Monday of my unfinished page Art Journal Prompts:

I enjoyed a trip down “memory lane” and found this photo of me ice skating with my dad when I was almost 5 years old. (Notice the old cars in the background!)

I encourage you to create your own art journal prompts! I hope you share with me what you do!

Cheers! πŸ™‚

I love your light and cheerful style Jill! I remember my folks having an old car that was similar to that one when I was little. I loved how the front seats would recline all the way back and make a bed with the back seat!

  6. Wonderful to see the finished stage and early stage of your art journal page, Jill. LIked seeing the photo of you as a 5 y.o. with your dad, and yikes at the part about falling through the ice into the water. Good thing it was shallow. Fun post.

    • Thank you, Jet 😊 I thought it was funny that there wasn’t any snow in the background but the pond was frozen. It is fun to reminisce about childhood memories. I’m glad you enjoyed it. ❄️⛸

  7. It is fun to remember. we lived in Ft. worth Tx. when we wer young. Not much snow and certainly not on a frozen pond but we could go ice skating at a rink on occasion. I loved it. And I was good at it. Knowing how to roller skate probably helped. I do remember asking for ice skates every Christmas …but never got them. Pooh.

    • Hi Beverly, sounds like you have some wonderful memories too! πŸ˜Šβ›Έβ„οΈ I remember that we did a lot of roller skating as well. Thank you for sharing your memories with me. I’m sorry you never got your ice skates for Christmas! πŸŽ„ I found a pair of old vintage ice skates that make a great holiday decoration… 😍

  11. I love this, Jill! I cannot even imagine ice skating as a young child (or at any age to be honest). Being raised in the San Joaquin Valley here in central California there wasn’t much opportunity for that LOL. But now I am going to have to try your journal idea. I love the different size boxes and the style! πŸ˜€

    • Hi Nana, I do hope you give this journal style a try! 😊 I usually try to complete a journal page in one day but I liked doing it this way that is working on a page all week. I will be doing more of these pages in the new year! ❀️ I don’t know that I would try ice skating now… it hurts A LOT MORE when I fall! πŸ˜‰ Did you go roller skating?

      • Yes we did roller skate a lot. The park in my town had a cement area we called the skating rink. I remember when the thing we wanted most was β€œshoe skates” instead of the ones with the straps that went over your shoes!πŸ˜‚ I’ve gone ice skating on a couple of field trips in my life but was not good at it!!
