Waiting Game

I have been preparing for a total hip replacement surgery on my right hip in less than 2 weeks…

Making extra meals for the freezer and creating easy recipes for my hubby. I am trying to tidy up the house too. 😉

It feels like a waiting game so in order to relax I have been doing more doodling:

I started each one with Copic Markers:

Adding black Micron pen on top:

It has been fun experimenting with color and patterns. I will make copies and use these patterns in my collages.

What do YOU do to pass time when you are waiting?

Cheers! 🙂

P.S. I will be taking a short blogging break and posting only on Instagram for awhile. You can find me at art_jill_kuhn on Instagram.

  3. Jill I wish you well with your hip replacement, you will feel like a new woman. I have got a mindfulness colouring book which I often use when filling in time. I had a total hip replacement in August 2004…all good since then.

All the best to you Jill. The anticipation is hard, I know. Soon it will be done and you can move on to brighter things. Maybe you can write your book while you recoup.

    • Hi Patty, I like how you doodle over your watercolors. It was fun on the second one (red background) to create different floral designs on top and not follow the pattern I did in markers. It got a little busy but I still like how it turned out. 💖 I appreciate your prayers, thank you my friend! 🌼💕

  10. These are delightful, so full of motion and color! For myself, I like to knit while waiting. But right now, I’m waiting for my car to be serviced, and I’m blogging! That’s fun too.
Best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

  13. Usually I check my mail, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. If time allows I will watch art lessons on YouTube. Now it is responding to you and wishing you a successful operation and a speedy recovery. I had my knee done 6 years ago, the best thing I ever did, they do say that hips are better than knees, so you will be up and dancing in no time 🤗🥰

    • Hi Sally, I do enjoy watching art lessons on YouTube too. 😊🎨👍 And I am always behind in social media… but it is fun to see what others are doing. ❤️ So glad your knee surgery went well. They do say that hips are easier than knees. ☺️ I will be glad when the “feeling better” part starts! 👍

  16. So many of my friends have had hip replacements. It seems to be a very common procedure these days and they get you out of bed very quickly. Good luck.
