Springing Forward

Sunday, we set our clocks forward for Daylight Saving Time, giving us an extra hour of light in the evenings. Yay!

According to the Washington Post; 70 countries change their clocks mid year for Daylight Saving Time including most of North America, Europe and parts of South America and New Zealand. China, Japan, India and most countries near the equator don’t fall back or jump ahead.

Today’s weird bird is Springing forward with a bouquet of blooms to give you a smile!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

Learning To Fly…

Slow And Steady

Hi Friends,

I am feeling a little stronger each day. My total hip replacement surgery was two weeks ago.

I am using a walker to walk around my home and hope to graduate to a cane soon. Tomorrow I see my surgeon to get my bandage off. YAY!

I created this weird bird to give you a smile today:

It is very colorful and wild which tells me I’m getting back to my old self which makes me happy.

One day at a time is my motto these days. I hope to catch up with your blogs soon. I have missed you, friends!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers!

Ernie Was All Ears…

I hope you have earmarked my post today from Monday…

I completed my journal page and story yesterday:

Earnie was all ears whenever someone said, “Chocolate!” His large elf-like ears elevated his hearing to an extraordinary level of expertise. Everyone attributed Ernie’s extra large feet (size 11) to his enormous nose. Ernie was Eve’s son and she was extremely proud of Ernie’s ability to play the piano by ear, while riding a unicycle. A remarkable talent “earmarked” by many of Eve’s peers at an early age… as an exceptional child. Eve on the other hand was more reserved and preferred to express herself with wearing expensive and elegant clothes and shoes… And unusual hats!

I hope you enjoyed my silly story… I earmarked it to give you a smile!

Cheers! 🙂

Earmarked

I finished my beetle doodle that I started recently. I enjoyed working on it in the evenings.

I enjoyed adding gold ink in addition to black ink:

I started another story in my art journal. Perhaps you remember; Meet Linda and Bob – Part 2

This one is earmarked for more word play! I am using a thesaurus for my story prompts this time.

I plan to show my completed journal page this Friday… I hope you will earmark this post!

Cheers! 🙂

A Beetle Doodle

I have been sorting through closets and cupboards in my home this past weekend.

It feels good to get things better organized. I have discovered that I have too many hobbies however… and I need to get rid of a few as they are cluttering my mind.

Any suggestions? How do YOU get rid of art supplies you are no longer using?

In the evenings, I have been working on a beetle doodle:

I am using gold pen in addition to black ink. I noticed that REAL beetles tend to have an iridescent shine.

I cannot remember ever working on a symmetrical pattern. It is a bit more challenging. 😉

What did YOU do this past weekend? I hope you share it with me.

Cheers! 🙂

P.S. I will show you my finished beetle doodle when it is complete!

Stuffed Animals

I created this drawing based on the words from the assignment I told you about in my last post, “This might be impossible to read but it was fun to make.”

I had so much FUN drawing the stuffed animals and hiding the words.

Here is a close-up of the animals and words so you can read them.

Sometimes I don’t try ideas because I think they may be impossible to do! I’m glad I gave this one a try because I discovered stuffed animals are really quite easy to draw.

What would you like to learn to draw or paint if you didn’t have any obstacles in your way?

I hope you give your ideas a try!

Cheers! 🙂

A Game Changer

I am very excited about Carla Sonheim’s year-long online class for 2020!

It is called, “Words and Pictures.”

For the first assignment, I used the phrase, “This might be impossible to read but it was fun to make,” using a game theme:

I am hoping this class will be a game changer for me and help me write a children’s book!

If you are interested in Carla’s class, you can watch a 3 minute intro video at CarlaSonheim.com

Cheers! 🙂

Spectacles

Today’s weird bird is wearing spectacular spectacles…

I hope you have a spectacular day!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂
