Remember  The Paper Clips ?

Well, these strange birds didn’t want to miss out on the fun…

So they decide to “clip” together…

And wish you a happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

I hope this gives you a smile today…

Cheers! 🙂

P.S.  Who knew that wine foils and paper clips could become Clip Art! 😉

Letter “B” Is For…

Birds!!!  Of course! 😉

This Brown-Headed Bridge bird was caught with its hand beak in the bark butter again!

Kathy at Backyard Bird Nerd is a big believer of feeding bark butter to the bazillion birds that flock to her yard!

I hope you check out Kathy’s blog if you too want a treat of beautifully photographed birds (and butterflies in the summer too!)

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

Sonnet 43

How do I love thee?  Let me count the ways…

Today’s weird bird was inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s Sonnet 43:

In the book, Finding The Gift by Angela Howell, she writes; “Be the love you wish to receive…  Love you!  Love your life exactly as it is right now.  Happiness is an inside job!”

How do you love YOU?

Happy Valentine’s Day to someone special – YOU!

Cheers! 🙂

Meet Bob’s Cousin!

This is Bob’s Cousin, Dick…

As in un-pre-DICK-able:

image

One never knows when Dick will just fly in unannounced and spoil the fun…

Like last Saturday when I was hiking on a mountain trail with my hubby and Dick showed up unpreDICKable as always and I slipped and fell…

I didn’t break anything but ended up spraining my left big toe.  I got “the boot” from a trip to the ER:

image

Here I am at the lake trying to make the best of things…  At lease we had a sunny day!  Lol!

Wishing you a HAPPY day without a visit from Dick…

Cheers Friends!  🙂

G’Day Mate!

This Furphy bloke showed up on my doorstep today for Weird Bird Wednesday:

image

Isn’t he a beut?!  You can be sure it isn’t a Lyre bird!

Word of the Day:  Furphy – (noun)  Australian – A false report, rumor

A Lyre bird is known as the best mimicking bird in the bird world.  It is from Southeastern Australia and has the ability to imitate the songs of 20 species of bird.  Yet, what amazes me is this bird’s ability to imitate a whole range of sounds other than birdsong.

Check out this YouTube video and tell me how many different sounds you hear!

Well, enough yabber for today, wishing you a ripper day in the outback!

Cheers!  🙂

The Wafflestomper

The Wafflestomper bird is often seen while hiking in the wilderness.  This bird is recognizable by its footprints and flannel checkered feathers…

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday, friends!!!

Hmm, I think I’m hungry for some waffles now!  Lol!  🙂

The Namby-Pamby Bird

In celebration of “Weird Bird Wednesday” that I started last week – I’d like to introduce the Namby-Pamby bird to you:

image

This bird is very indecisive!  It can’t decide if it is a chicken or if it likes to eat fish…therefore it has two beaks!

Some days I’m a bit namby-pamby myself.  Do we have chicken or fish for dinner?

One thing I do know… this bird makes me laugh!

Hope it gives YOU a smile today!  🙂

The Kenspeckle

Knowing that a Kenspeckle bird can easily be seen or recognized…I spotted one right away from this Gelli-print – do you see it?

image

Let me help you…

image

The Kenspeckle bird is related to the Pigsney bird – no fooling!  😉

Yes, kenspeckle is a REAL word!  I found it on Dictionary.com “Word of the Day.”  You never know what you will find in the dictionary or my imagination!  LOL!

Happy Friday!  :-)))

A Dipsy-Doodle Bird

Word of the day:  Dipsy-Doodle

The Tip of the Ice Bird

Temperatures may be plunging into the low teens this week in our neck of the woods…

image

This is when the rare Ice Bird will sometimes appear on a chilly winter day, clutching a blue icicle.

A small bird identified by its skinny, ice-thin legs, blue tip on the end of its beak and large white eyes.

Legend has it, if you are fortunate to spot one, you will likely live in a warm home and never be without electricity for five consecutive days…

Happy Hunting! ❄️🐦❄️
