Leaves Falling

I was out in my yard yesterday and noticed the birds leaves falling

After all, it is FALL!

Several birds were in a tree and it got me thinking about my weird birds.

There is such a variety of leaf shapes much like birds!

Perhaps there is a leaf bird? Have you seen any lately?!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

Petals Fade

We had a sunny day mixed with rain yesterday. I took this photo of a rose bush in my yard.

I thought it was beautiful how the rain droplet was held within its petals like arms holding onto the end of summer.

It inspired me to write a haiku:

Last bloom before frost?

Petals fade but one remains…

Unfolding with hope.

May you find hope in the beauty that surrounds you.

Cheers! 🙂

Nature Inspired Doodles

Remember my nature inspired watercolor pumpkins and leaves that I posted last week:

I enjoyed adding doodles with ink and white gel pen:

It was so fun that I did another page of leaves with a couple of mushrooms:

And a page of seed pods:

Nature photos from Pinterest inspired my patterns but my imagination created my doodles!

Yesterday was the first day of Autumn…

It was sure in the air! Aren’t the reflection of the clouds on the lake amazing?!

Cheers! 🙂

Autumn Inspiration

I recently purchased a few Autumn decorations for my husband’s business as Hobby Lobby, a local arts and crafts store was having a sale.

They had pumpkins in many shapes, patterns and materials!

It gave me inspiration to create these watercolor pages in my art journal:

Pumpkins on the left and leaves are on the right. I was experimenting in color. 😉

I will doodle or add collage to my watercolor shapes and show you my progress next week.

Creating challenges like this one inspires my creativity.

What inspires you to create? I hope you share your ideas with me.

Cheers! 🙂

A Blogging Break

Hi Friends,

As the cooler temps of autumn arrive here in the Pacific Northwest, I have decided to take a short blogging break

I hope to get caught up on some housecleaning since I have been gone to the lake all summer…

Summer Clouds Reflect

Summer clouds reflect,

Another season ending…

Autumn’s chill arrives.

My hubby and I went kayaking Saturday before the big chill arrived at the lake.  The early morning rain shower on Sunday brought a new layer of cool autumn air.

We close up at the lake soon.  I always feel a little sad to see another summer season end…

We feel blessed to have so many wonderful memories and seasons with our friends at the lake!

Cheers to good memories! 🙂

P.S. What memories do you cherish with friends?  I hope you share them with me! ❤️

Autumn’s Display

Fall was in the air this last weekend at the lake!

I always like when the wild rose hips turn a blushing reddish-orange:

I did a pencil sketch of them in my journal:

I enjoyed taking these photos of Autumn’s Display to share with you:

Nature’s Confetti

I took these photos, last Saturday when I took A Walk In The Park

I hope to paint some of these trees in watercolor but work has been extra busy this week …

So for now, I wrote a haiku to share with these photos:

Things are looking up!

Fall leaves scatter unaware…

Nature’s confetti

Isn’t it wonderful how nature helps us notice the simple pleasures in life and celebrate its beauty?!

Cheers! 🙂

Ahoy Matey!

Avast ye!  (Listen up!)

It is that time of year again to go, Trick er Treatin’ and collect some treasure! (Candy)

Last year, I carved a pumpkin, you can see my post here:  Sir Earhand, A Ghost And Frank

This year, I decide to draw one:

I remember many childhood years of “Trick or Treating” in our neighborhood and filling a plastic pumpkin bucket full of Halloween candy.  How about you?

When we returned home, my sister and I always had to dump out all our candy on our pink bedspreads and compare our “booty” er, candy!!

I think my older sister was a pirate one year…  we usually had create our costumes instead of buying a one.  One of my favorite memories was when my sis dressed up as Granny… but that is for another year!

Yo-ho-ho! (Hahaha)

Happy Halloween to the child in all of us! 🙂

A Walk In The Park

It was an amazing fall day yesterday in the Pacific Northwest!  Hubby and I took advantage of this blue-sky day by taking a walk at Manito Park.

It seems that everywhere we looked, nature was showing her glorious autumn colors:

It was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying the day… we saw people taking family photos, several dog walkers and many people just breathing in the beauty like us.

It was easy to put the busy work week behind us when we were dazzled by these colors as they reflected on this pond:

And with such a spectacular photo like this one:

Life’s troubles seemed to disappear.

Wishing you a moment to reflect on the beauty around you today…

Cheers! 🙂
