I’d Rather Be…

At least this Sea Gull Hull is happiest near the water!

What about you?  What would YOU rather be doing?

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Clear Skies

We have been dealing with smoke from wild fires in our area for several weeks.  Not only do we have poor vision but the air quality has been awful!  This photo was taken last weekend at the lake:

So we were thrilled to have a few drops of rain and wind to clear the skies this last weekend!

Yesterday, we were able to enjoy a short boat ride and breathe in fresh air in clear skies.  It was wonderful to see blue sky and mountains again.  Hoorah! 😃

We noticed the air and water temperatures were cooler and leaves starting to change to autumn’s glorious show:

It was so nice to enjoy the beauty around us again!  We hope that the firefighters are able to get control of fires around us so that the smoke stays away.  We still need rain badly.

Even the wild animals are hurting from the dry weather.  I found this wild bunny eating an apple from a neighbor’s tree.  The deer love the apples but I have never seen a bunny eat one!

Such bizarre weather this year, everywhere it seems…

Stay safe friends!

Cheers! 🙂

Sail Away

It was a windy day at the lake yesterday – good for sailing! 🙂

Sailing is something I have only done once but I think I’d like to go again.  How about you?

I discovered a wonderful artist on Pinterest named Sandi Fitzgerald.  You can find images of her art on Pinterest, Facebook and Flickr.

I loved Sandi’s whimsical style.   She inspired me to create this watercolor face in my sketchbook yesterday:IMG_2663

“Mary dreamed of sailing…”

Wishing you a day to sail away… even if only in your dreams!

Cheers! 🙂

Postcard Perfect

I had an AWESOME weekend at the lake!  I thought this photo looked like it could be a postcard:

Some white, fluffy clouds for you to gaze at!  Do you see any images in them?  I thought I saw a bird – imagine that!  🙂

My husband and I were out in our boat on this unusually HOT day when we saw this rope swing on the shoreline:

Rope Swing at lake

No, we did not swing from it – sorry to disappoint you all!  But we did go in the lake for a couple of QUICK dips as the water was a cool 66 degrees.  When the air temperature is in the 90’s – the cold water was very refreshing!

We discovered a hidden gem near this rope swing – a waterfall!

Hidden waterfall

It was well hidden in the trees but we could hear its loud roar from the boat.  The waterfall is in the middle of the above photo.

It was such a pretty place on the lake.  No cabins so it was all natural.

It was the kind of day that made you look up at the blue sky and have a heart of gratitude for this beautiful place and being present to enjoy it!

May you discover the hidden beauty around you this week!

Happy Creating!
