Santa Claws…

The gifts are all wrapped

And under the tree,

We’re hoping Santa Claws

Let’s each of them be…

The twitch of his tail

And gleam in his eyes,

Means he’s been in the catnip,

This is no surprise!

His message to you,

This Christmas Eve night…

Never leave a catniped “Claws”

Out of your sight!

Meowy Christmas my friends!

May your day be filled with happy surprises!

Cheers! 🙂

A Tintinnabulum

Today’s weird bird has a ring to it…

Tintinnabulum – (N) a small, tinkling bell or set of bells playing in succession.

This bird gives new meaning to a “wingding!” Lol!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

A Heavenly Bird

The Heavenly bird of the “PIE” family:

I think Chocolate Cream Pie is definitely a slice of heaven! 😉

Do you see any strange animals in the clouds?

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

This Little “Star” Of Mine

I remember singing, “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine…” As a child attending Sunday school at church.

This song surfaced in my memory when I was making this paper collage recently.  I find the process of cutting squares and circles and placing them together on a piece of paper (like a puzzle) to be very relaxing.

I created this collage with “Christmas” colors and added a star to one of the circles:

I suppose this is a way of letting my creative “light” shine!

And even with the busyness of the holidays…

I hope you will find time to shine as bright as a star!

Cheers! 🙂

P.S. I created the last photo with an app called, “Layout” on my iPad.

A Christmas Bouquet

My husband wanted me to make a card for his sister whose Birthday is on Christmas Day!

So I created this Christmas bouquet:

Funny, I don’t feel like my art is very good today…maybe because I don’t feel like his family understands my art or my need to create it.

So thank you my blogging friends for your support in my art!  It means so much to me!

And as the inside of my card says, “May God bless you today and every day!”

Cheers!  🙂

One Colorful Cat!

I did this quick sketch of a cat tonight in pencil then added a sketchy black outline with a Pitt pen and finished it with watercolors…

It is one colorful cat!

Laura at Create Art Everyday  introduced me to this awesome book on Drawing Animals:

It made sketching a cat enjoyable for the first time in my life!  🙂

Wishing you all a Meowy Christmas!!

Cheers!  🙂

A Paper Wreath

Wreaths delight me…

One continuous circle of holiday JOY!

A Snow Glow

We had several inches of snow this last weekend which made for this perfect photo opportunity:

When I went outside to take this photo at night is was so very quiet…It made me stop and just enjoy the “glow in the snow!”

Nature always has a way of making me stop and enjoy its beauty!!

Happy Monday!!  🙂

Christmas Ornaments

I have been thinking about my handmade Christmas card for this year when this poem came to me:

And here are some of my favorite ornaments hanging on our Christmas tree…

A handmade heart my grandma made many years ago:

An ornament saved from my childhood that reminds me of the family tree:

And one an artist friend painted:

Each one holds a special place in my heart just for me!

Wishing you a Sunny Sunday!  Cheers!!  🙂

P.S.  Do you have a special ornament that you cherish?  I would love to hear about it!

A New Year’s Song

On the 3rd day of New Year’s, my true love gave to me:

3 plump Robins:

2 Doodled ornaments:

And 1 Northern Flicker in a Crab(apple) tree:

I took the bird photos from inside my kitchen window.  Isn’t that male Northern Flicker (Red Shafted) just gorgeous?!

Here is a photo of all 3 doodled ornaments photographed together:

As you recall, I posted the first one (on your left) on Christmas Day.

We will take down our Christmas tree and ornaments this week.  I couldn’t resist one last song for the holidays!

Happy Singing!
