Autumn Inspiration

I recently purchased a few Autumn decorations for my husband’s business as Hobby Lobby, a local arts and crafts store was having a sale.

They had pumpkins in many shapes, patterns and materials!

It gave me inspiration to create these watercolor pages in my art journal:

Pumpkins on the left and leaves are on the right. I was experimenting in color. 😉

I will doodle or add collage to my watercolor shapes and show you my progress next week.

Creating challenges like this one inspires my creativity.

What inspires you to create? I hope you share your ideas with me.

Cheers! 🙂

An Inside View

Thank you all for your kind words of support for my hip surgery.  I am doing amazingly well.  I still get tired but am able to walk without any support and have very little pain.  I get my stitches out this Friday and hope that I will be given the green light for driving!

I have a little something different for today’s weird bird…

Birdhouses!

Our snow is finally melting and it looks like Spring is on its way!  This makes me think about birdhouses.  Plus, I have been making mini house collages in Carla Sonheim’s 2019 Year of the Collage class.

I created these eccentric birdhouses in my sketchbook recently.  I limited myself to using a circle and 2 other collage scraps for each one.  I randomly glued them into a square and then went back and added details with a pencil.

One of them looked like it had an inside view.

This inspired me to create this collage from a variety of magazines:

An Inside View of a Birdhouse

What kind of weird bird do you think lives here?  I know it is a bird with extremely good taste as the framed chicken is from a Klimt calendar!

Happy weird bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

Three Ornaments

I have a bowl of vintage glass ornaments that remind me of Christmas past.  When my hubby and I have his family to our home to celebrate Christmas Eve, I like to decorate my table with these ornaments, bells and ribbons. Add a few candles and it makes an inexpensive yet festive table!

I was thinking about these decorations when I created these three ornaments today:

My ornaments and ribbons are Gelli-printed papers I made with acrylic paints earlier this year. I like how festive this looks!

Do you have a favorite holiday ornament?  I’d love to hear from you!

Happy Decorating!  😄
