A Crawfish-Bibbed Spear-Head Bird

It is so hidden in camouflage…

That it takes people time to recognize it.

Yet, if you are patient you will be lucky to see…

A Strange Case…

Today’s weird bird is a strange case

Could it be Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

A before and after photo:

Perhaps it is just an ordinary “Two-Headed Hat bird,” not to be confused with this one: The Cat Bird

If you’d like to inspect it further, here is a close-up photo:

Vamoose

Today’s weird bird decided to “hightail” it out of here…

The Feckenham Family…

The Feckenham family had similar features…

And could easily be found in a crowd!

Hope these funny faces give you a smile today!

Watermelon Birds?!

Nothing beats the heat like a slice of watermelon…

These weird birds made their “appearance” for the letter, “W”:

They are wacky Watermelon birds!

I used watermelon images from my Bon Appétit magazine and painted their beaks with watercolor. A few details were added with a pencil, black micron pen and white gel pen.

Carla Sonheim is offering FREE art videos for Kid’s Art Camp this week.  Each day is a short video.  I always enjoy participating and seeing what others create.  Any age can sign up.  I encourage you to check it out at CarlaSonheim.com

These “wild” birds were from lesson one:

Just Mating?

Today’s weird birds are just married mating…

This “odd” couple was inspired by this old photograph:

I hope this post gives you a giggle today… 😃

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!!

Focus On A Floccus

According to Dictionary.com –

Floccus is

  1.  (noun) A small tuft of woolly hairs.
  2. (adjective) Meteorology (of a cloud) having elements in the form of small, rounded tufts.

My version of a Tufted Floccus:

This weird bird often appears to be scowling and yet I think he is only focusing on his next meal… (something I seem to be thinking about a lot lately since I’m trying to loose a little weight!)

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

I hope this bird gives you a smile today…

Cheers! 🙂

P.S.  I imagine you won’t look at tufted clouds without thinking of this weird bird! 😉

A Wild Quacker…

There is a saying, “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.”

Apparently, this person never heard of Weird Bird Wednesday…

This is a wild Quacker, like a wild card, uh, I mean duck!

YOU get to name it!

That is if you want to play along…

Happy Wild Duck Wednesday!  hehe

Cheers! 🙂

P.S.  No “fowl” language…haha

Goodbye Refrigerator…

Our first fridge has quit,

I feel rather sad…

You kept our food cold,

A long time, I’m so glad!

59517C2E-D067-4C24-A8A8-7FE3FAF9D338

In our first home,

You were shiny, brand new…

When we moved, you became

The garage fridge, thank you!

E1252FBC-F8DE-4830-9865-BC9CC74A1FF5

It seems only fair,

Your photo I share now…

A Gibson – golden edition,

For over 30 years, wow!

D557A418-83CB-4EA7-A8A7-0C9D3AD55B79

Extra food and drinks

I relied on your place…

Filling your shelves,

When I ran out of space!

C818F37F-90B2-4F4B-A6E0-0B2C884367FB

So what will I do?

Without you, oh, my…

I know it will cost us,

Sorry to say, good-bye!

I hope this silly poem gives you a smile today!

A Bandana Banana Bandit

Today’s weird bird was named the Bandana Banana bandit

A11199DF-CF36-4996-B861-45C0DA7ECBF9

Because of its brightly colored “bandana” feathers around its neck.  Living in the tropics, this bird was often caught trying to steal a banana or two!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

I hope this colorful bird helps brighten your day…

Cheers! 🙂
