Sunny weather last weekend changed to 30’s and SNOW this weekend!  😮

I’m thankful we were able to get our yard work done yesterday before the snow accumulates…

A Little “Extra” Lake Time

It is difficult to believe that summer is almost over!  September brings cooler evenings, shorter days and changing colors.

In the states, we are celebrating an extra long weekend called Labor Day (always the first Monday in September) which pays tribute to contributions and achievements of American workers.  It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and came a federal holiday in 1894.

I took a little extra time to paint outdoors at the lake today.  I gathered some flowers, a wild rose hip and a couple of beach rocks.

I’m not really liking the black online but I wanted to try something different.  I gave this little painting to a friend who kindly brought me dinner last week.  It was an extra nice treat for me! 🙂

A Day To Reflect

Some days I just need to slow down and reflect on life…

Yesterday seemed like the perfect day at the lake!  😃

A good morning reflection – so thankful to be alive here at the lake!

An evening boat ride on calm waters:

Just breathe!  Love these cotton ball clouds and calm waters.  Thank you God for this beautiful place to unwind and recharge.

Thank you for this day!  Wow!  God!  Your masterpieces are such a work of art in nature!!

Amazing Feet!

Maybe you remember the art doodle I started before my foot surgery?  I’m pleased to say that I have finished it!  Here is the final one that is on 5.5 x 8.5 inch paper:

I am pleased to say my left foot is healing well from my surgery too!  I got my stitches out yesterday… YAY!  🙂  I will have to wear my foot boot (brace) for another month but I am thrilled to be moving forward.

Winter’s Wonderland

My hubby and I took a drive to the lake yesterday. The roads were wet so it was a good day to travel.  It was so lovely to see the trees covered with snow!  A little cold by the lake as the wind was blowing so I took a quick photo while it was snowing:

The lake water is lowered in the winter so it always looks a bit strange to see so much shoreline.  It would be a bit chilly for a beach fire today!  😉

We walked around near our lake place.  It was so beautiful and peaceful!

We saw a few deer tracks and that was about it.  And a little sunshine as we were leaving but mostly it felt really cold.  Brrr!

So we stopped for a cup of coffee and hot cocoa to warm-up by a crackling fire at a local resort before heading home.

It was lovely to enjoy winter’s wonderland for a day and return to our warm home!

I’m happy to say that I have FINALLY made a decision!  YAY!

Camping in Winter?

We had a big wind storm yesterday with wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour!

I have been without power for almost 24 hours.  The house sure gets cold without heat in a hurry. It makes one appreciate the basic amenities.

I’m not sure how long we and 168,000 other people will be without power.  The newspaper reported that it could take several days.  So I tried to keep some of our food cold in an ice chest.

It helped to sketch the ice chest to take my mind off of how cold I feel at the moment.   😨

A friend who has heat – invited us for dinner.  I feel so grateful! ❤️
