Letter, “Q” is for quotes:
“Life is like a rainbow…you need both the sun and the rain to make its colors appear.” – Author Unknown
”R” is for really RED:
I haven’t done one of these watercolor and ink abstracts in awhile. It was fun to do one in mostly one color, RED! I added a little Payne’s Gray for contrast.
A paint sample card and a paper, “R” for my collage portion.
Sunny, summer sunflowers for “S” was super fun:
I like how this one turned out! I wrote on washi tape with a ball point pen for the words and cut my letter from my handpainted paper stash for the collage.
Wishing you a happy Weekend!

Since Mother’s Day is this weekend, I decided to create today’s weird bird in memory of ALL mothers – birds and humans! 😉
Lunches and Brunches…
Recipes old and new,
I “cooked” up this bird…
In memory of you! ❤️
Happy Mother’s Day!

I was looking for a Welcome sign for my front doorstep the other day… And I discovered this sign at Hobby Lobby.
I didn’t like the colors of the wood birds so I unscrewed them and darkened them with acrylic paints.
Hubby helped me hang it on the siding of our home… it looks more inviting now…
How do you welcome people to your home?! Do you decorate your doorstep?

I started this abstract in my watercolor journal last week with a Micron pen and decided to add watercolor to it:
Then a little collage… I cut three circles from a paper napkin. And added some water soluble crayons on top:
And finished with a few doodles with my black pen:
Easter is the only time it’s OK to put all your eggs in one basket. – Anonymous
Wishing you an Eggs-cellent day!

I thought I’d change things up a bit for weird bird Wednesday…
And drew a couple of birds, Dr. Seuss style:
Bird 1 and Bird 2…
A Suess hatching at the zoo,
Double fun for you!
I hope your Wednesday is happy times two!
Cheers Friends! 🙂

I was experimenting with acrylic paint and India ink yesterday….
And I created this tropical Flamingo by drawing with an ink dropper and then scraping acrylic paint over it:
Isn’t it wild?! 😉
I next experimented with some drips:
Then I cut this paper into strips and 100 tropical hearts:
I plan to use them in my art journals… what would you do with them?
I hope you have a LOVEly Monday!

Even if you aren’t celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday…
I hope you have a slice of pie! 🙂
What is your favorite kind of pie?
Here is a list of my favorites – not in any order:
- Chocolate cream
- Key Lime
- Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake (it is kind of a pie!) 😉
- Mixed Berry
I hope you “share” your favorite with me!

I took yesterday off from work to have a creative play day! YAHOO! 🙂
I had so much fun! I painted 33 different papers with acrylic paints without a Gelli-Plate.
I can’t wait to show you some of my discoveries in next Thursday’s COLLAGE series on my blog.
Here is a sample of the 33 papers I created, using a square punch:
Happy Weekend Friends!

Avast ye! (Listen up!)
It is that time of year again to go, Trick er Treatin’ and collect some treasure! (Candy)
Last year, I carved a pumpkin, you can see my post here: Sir Earhand, A Ghost And Frank
This year, I decide to draw one:
I remember many childhood years of “Trick or Treating” in our neighborhood and filling a plastic pumpkin bucket full of Halloween candy. How about you?
When we returned home, my sister and I always had to dump out all our candy on our pink bedspreads and compare our “booty” er, candy!!
I think my older sister was a pirate one year… we usually had create our costumes instead of buying a one. One of my favorite memories was when my sis dressed up as Granny… but that is for another year!
Happy Halloween to the child in all of us! 🙂
