A Ladder Bird

I have a Limerick for today’s weird bird.

There once was a Ladder bird named Delores,

Whose neck was long like a Brachiosaurus,

She rose to the top,

Chirping nonstop,

When voted most successful in the chorus!

May you sing nonstop today like Delores!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Chirp, Chirp! 🙂

One Tough Old Bird

I decided to change things up today and create a weird bird with scraping paint, like the technique I showed you previously, here: Scraping Paint…

And I wrote a Limerick:

There once was an old bird from Bend,

Whose wild hair stood up on end,

She did have some charm,

With hens on the farm,

Who crowned her Queen of Hair Trends!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

May your hair look fabulous today!

Cheers! 🙂

A Doodled Poodle Noodle

I finished the collage I started earlier this week, that you can find more about here, A Recipe for PLAY

Below are my progress photos:

She turned out a bit wild:

So I decided she needed a Limerick to tell her story:

There once was a girl who doodled,

Whose hair was curly like a poodle,

She dyed it pink,

Which made me think…

She may not have been using her noodle!

Happy Friday!

Cheers! 🙂

Patterned Socks

I wrote a little Limerick for you today…

There once was a red-tailed hawk,

Who liked to wear patterned socks,

He was quite the sight,

Especially in flight…

All birds thought his socks made him rock!!

I’m wearing my patterned socks today, how about you?!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!!

Cheers!  🙂

An Owl From Spangle

IMG_1470

There once was an owl from Spangle

Who could dance the midnight tangle,

He could dip and sway

Other birds did say –

From a branch at any angle.

Just a little Limerick to give you a smile today!

Cheers!  🙂

That’s Nonsense!

I think creating from my imagination is the most fun!  I hope you enjoy my ridiculous creatures:

I started each creature with a scrap of gelli-printed paper and then made up the rest of my animal, adding details with a black pen and color pencils.

And yesterday I created this silly Martian and told his story with this Limerick:

May it inspire the child in you to have fun and play in your art!
