Art Journal Prompts – Part 2

I wanted to show you the page in my art journal that I completed from Monday’s post:

Below is the photo from Monday of my unfinished page Art Journal Prompts:

I enjoyed a trip down “memory lane” and found this photo of me ice skating with my dad when I was almost 5 years old. (Notice the old cars in the background!)

I encourage you to create your own art journal prompts! I hope you share with me what you do!

Cheers! 🙂

Just Add Fun!

Today’s weird bird was a mixture of paper scraps randomly chosen from a basket…

Just add fun seemed like a good title!

What would YOU name this bird?! I hope you share it with me.

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

What’s On Your Plate?

I cleaned off my collage table recently and discovered new weird bird possibilities on this small plate of scraps:

Today’s bird is everything but the kitchen sink… I mean, basin!

I wonder, what’s on your plate of creativity today?!  Please share!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

Hiccups…

Did you know that the longest attack of hiccups according to Guinness Medical Record breakers was 68 years?!

“Charles Osborne of Anthon, Iowa started hiccuping while attempting to weigh a hog before slaughtering it in 1922… he was unable to find a cure and continued until February 1990.”

Today’s weird bird has a case of the hiccups…

How do you recommend he get rid of them?

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

A Knit-Capped Crane

One never knows when they will spot a Knit-Capped Crane in the fresh water of a marsh:

This weird bird is related to the “Hooded” Crane…

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

Cheers! 🙂

P.S. Can you find the hidden hand in the bird’s body?

A Squirrely Bird

Today’s weird bird is a little…

Squirrely!

This bird is sometimes confused with a “whirlybird…”  Hmmm, I wonder why?!  Lol!

Happy Weird Bird Wednesday!

I hope this silly bird gives you a smile today…

Cheers! 🙂

A Wild Quacker…

There is a saying, “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.”

Apparently, this person never heard of Weird Bird Wednesday…

This is a wild Quacker, like a wild card, uh, I mean duck!

YOU get to name it!

That is if you want to play along…

Happy Wild Duck Wednesday!  hehe

Cheers! 🙂

P.S.  No “fowl” language…haha

Opposites Attract…

Opposites attract…

You say blue and I say orange,

Love is color blind…

When I was creating my hearts yesterday, I noticed how cool to match two different heart “halves” to create a whole.

It reminded me of my hubby and I… he says, “Blue,” and I say, “Orange!”  So true!! Lol! ☺️

And yet we will be married 34 years in May!  😮 Seems like just yesterday that we said, “I do!”

If you were to combine two different hearts together, what would it look like?!

Cheers! ❤️

100 Tropical Hearts

I was experimenting with acrylic paint and India ink yesterday….

And I created this tropical Flamingo by drawing with an ink dropper and then scraping acrylic paint over it:

Isn’t it wild?! 😉

I next experimented with some drips:

Then I cut this paper into strips and 100 tropical hearts:

I plan to use them in my art journals… what would you do with them?

I hope you have a LOVEly Monday!

A Square Idea

This collage was very therapeutic for me to make!

IMG_4313

Perhaps it was cutting the squares and circles from my stash of hand-painted papers…

IMG_4317

Or the act of glueing them to a piece of 9×12 inch paper?

I discovered that having the right tools made a big difference:

Cutter Bee scissors, may be small in size but they are SHARP!  And making cutting paper a breeze!

I recently discovered Elmers, EXTRA STRENGTH glue sticks at Staples Office Supply store.  I purchased a case of 12 to save money.  I find they do have that little something EXTRA to glue the heavier papers. 🙂

IMG_4302

I enjoyed the process of balancing color and patterns as I filled my paper.  Some of the squares hung over the paper but I kind of liked that it wasn’t perfectly square.

IMG_4303

I enjoyed adding circles that weren’t perfectly round and taking my time to fill each circle with color:

IMG_4308

I finished it by adding some smaller circles on top of the larger ones:

It reminds me of decorating the house for Christmas…

Wishing you a JOY filled day – Cheers! 🙂

P.S.  This is a fun way to use up some paper scraps from other projects.
