I was rear ended in my vehicle yesterday… this will be the second time in less than two years by people NOT paying attention. It makes me very upset.
I do not feel well to create art so I’m sharing these photos from the lake last weekend:
I find the colors soothing and the memories of this place, healing…
What colors do you find soothing when you are upset? I hope you share it with me.

Red, White and Blue… Today we celebrate our freedom in the United States!
I thought it would be fun to revisit what I posted on my blog in 2016:
Red, White and Cyan?
Happy Independence Day!
Wishing you ALL a day celebrating WHAT and WHO you hold dear!! ❤💙❤

I used to spend hours writing my thoughts and ideas in a journal – not the journals you see now… mine were yellow note pads. Nothing fancy… Yet, writing helped me deal with life – the good times and the not so good. Can you relate?!
Yesterday, I decided to try combining writing with DRAWING – my new love! ❤
First, I did some writing with a permanent black pen. (I love “fine” black Sharpie pens and Amazon sells them really cheap).
Next, I found a face on Pinterest to use as a reference to sketch over my words with a pencil. I added a little color with Tombow markers. I softened them with a water brush. Here is my result:
I will definitely try combining writing and drawing again.

I find the shadows to be almost as beautiful of the flowers in the sun light!
Foxglove next to Bluebells:
Flowers purchased to plant:
And flowers planted:
May you enjoy the beauty surrounding you today!

Some days I just need to slow down and reflect on life…
Yesterday seemed like the perfect day at the lake! 😃
A good morning reflection – so thankful to be alive here at the lake!
An evening boat ride on calm waters:
Just breathe! Love these cotton ball clouds and calm waters. Thank you God for this beautiful place to unwind and recharge.
Pink clouds… such an amazing view!
Thank you for this day! Wow! God! Your masterpieces are such a work of art in nature!!
Wishing you a day to relax and enjoy what brings you happiness in life!

I created this journal page before my surgery using this foam stamp, that I showed you how to make previously here.
Instead of using paint, I stamped my paper with gesso and then finished it with watercolor.
Today, I wrote this quote by Leo Tolstoy:
I have been forced to stop a moment as I recover from foot surgery and I miss my daily art practice a great deal. I realize it has only been a week since the surgery yet I long to be able to sit again at my art table without my foot screaming in pain. I must be patient…
Taking a break does have a positive aspect too as it allows time for me to evaluate where I am currently on my art journey and where I would like to be headed in the future.
Do you take the time to assess your creative practice from time to time? I realize that it’s not easy for me to do this assessment but important.

Life doesn’t always turn out as planned… Yet, I do believe how “I” react makes a BIG difference.
I created these patterns in color pencils on black paper with the thought of throwing rocks into water:
And afterwards watching the ripples of my actions spread…
When life gives me lemons, do I spread joy or anger?! The choice is mine.

Carousel of lights,
Forgetting winter’s cold bite,
Brings our eyes delight!
My hubby and I were at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho yesterday. I took these photos outside at the marina. The resort puts on a Christmas light show every year.
I enjoyed looking at the mountains too and how peaceful the lake is in winter. We did see one boat on the lake in 12 degrees! Brrr! Too cold for us!
Wishing you a day to relax and enjoy the beauty around you… wherever you live!
Peace Friends! 🙂

We had several inches of snow this last weekend which made for this perfect photo opportunity:
When I went outside to take this photo at night is was so very quiet…It made me stop and just enjoy the “glow in the snow!”
Nature always has a way of making me stop and enjoy its beauty!!
Happy Monday!! 🙂
