Sonnet 43

How do I love thee?  Let me count the ways…

Today’s weird bird was inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s Sonnet 43:

In the book, Finding The Gift by Angela Howell, she writes; “Be the love you wish to receive…  Love you!  Love your life exactly as it is right now.  Happiness is an inside job!”

How do you love YOU?

Happy Valentine’s Day to someone special – YOU!

Cheers! 🙂

A Bird Of A Different Color

I wanted to mix things up for today’s Weird Bird Wednesday.  So I created a few mixaphors for my bird using scissors to creatively carve its shape.

As this bird evolved, one discovered that…

Clothes Lips don’t make the bird…

And a horse bird of a different color…

May be the cat’s bird’s pajamas after all!

Never judge a book bird by its cover (up).

Cheers!  🙂

A Single Rose

My wonderful hubby gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s day:

So I drew this single rose with an ERASER!

First, I blocked in my shape with a pencil and then “erased” sections to create my rose.

Wishing you ALL a Happy Valentine’s Day – one you won’t want to erase!

Cheers!  ❤

You Rock!

Remember the “Sweetheart” conversation heart candies?  Well, according to a Reader’s Digest article, the company, NECCO has been making them with the same simple recipe since 1902 when the candies were first introduced. However, early in 1990, the then vice president of the company decided to sweeten the mix by adding some new sayings.  You can find some of the new sayings, here.

Here is an example using a few new candy messages in a sentence:

A sure recipe 4 love may be a table for 2 so you can chill out with your top dog in style – a purr fect ever after class act – so start now!  😉

My sweetheart surprised me with these beautiful flowers in my favorite colors:

One Dozen

I am always so inspired by YOU!  Each one of you inspire me in a DOZEN or more ways every day so THANK YOU!

Jodi at Life In Between and Laura at Create Art Everyday inspired me to pull out the art supplies and play yesterday!  Sometimes it is FUN to just get the hands moving!

I created this piece with Neocolor II Water soluble crayons and Inktense Blocks:

This free experimentation led me to create one dozen roses:

I started this piece with a dip pen in black ink.  I colored the flowers with Neocolor II crayons and then added water:

I finished my “bouquet” by adding two colors of blue and softening it with water.

It was so FUN to play!  Thank you Jodi and Laura for inspiring me with your creativity!

Happy Coloring!  🙂
