On Top Of Spaghetti

Remember this old song?  I thought of it after finding out there was a Noodle Fish!  (See Yesterday’s post…)

In case you don’t know it, you sing it to the tune of the song, “On Top of Old Smokey…”

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.

I wonder if I could play it on the guitar?  Yes, that is your clue! – here is my Guitar Fish:

My Guitar fish

I used to play guitar when I was younger.  I haven’t picked it up in years.

If you would like to see what the REAL Guitar fish looks like then click on the underlined link to Wikipedia.  I found it interesting that it is in the “Rays” family.  It’s head has a triangular guitar-like shape and an elongated body much like a guitar.

So here is the rest of the song, I hope it brings you a smile:

It rolled off the table,
And on to the floor,
And then my poor meatball,
Rolled out of the door.

It rolled in the garden,
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball,
Was nothing but mush.

The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.

The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.

So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
Whenever you sneeze.

Happy Fishing!  🙂
